HOW DO I SIGN UP?

Registration is underway. We encourage you to register as soon as possible in order to assure yourself a place in the course. There are two ways to register:

  1. On-line by clicking here. You can pay the full fee of $210 by credit card or make 2 monthly credit card payments of $105 each.

  2. By mail by filling out the “Registration Acceptance Form” and mailing it along with either the full payment or a $50 deposit to the address shown on the form.

IS FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AVAILABLE?

Yes. We want Wood Badge to be available to all Scouters. Often, participants are partially sponsored by their units or their chartered organizations. Scholarship assistance is available. Please contact the Course Director Randy Bradshaw  or Circle Ten Program Director Bart Green if you would like to discuss scholarship opportunities or an alternative payment schedule. The best way to manage the course fee is to register early and make regular payments until the fee is paid in full.

ARE THEIR PREREQUISITES FOR ATTENDING?

Yes, you must have completed the basic training courses for your Scout position and also have completed the outdoor skills training programs appropriate for your position.

WHERE WILL I BE SLEEPING?
The first weekend will be spent in summer camp style tents on the new platforms currently being installed at Camp James Ray. The second weekend you will be sleeping in your own tent or one borrowed from your Troop, Crew or a fellow patrol mate. Modern restrooms and hot showers will be available.

If you wish to show up early, you will be responsible for your own tent and breakfast on Friday morning while the staff prepares for your arrival.

WHAT ABOUT MEALS?
The Quartermaster Crew has a great menu planned for the first weekend and a portion of the second weekend. As part of the outdoor experience most of the meals for the second weekend will be cooked "Patrol Style" in your campsites.

WHAT IF I NEED A SPECIAL DIET?
If you have a special diet requirement, let us know as soon as possible. Your Quartermaster Crew will make every effort to meet your needs but may not be able to accommodate persons following strict diets for religious or medical reasons so please let the Course Director know on your Personal Resource Questionnaire of your needs.

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE COURSE?
Yes, you will need a BSA class 3 medical. Please turn these in by September 1st so we may be prepared for any needs.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?
